the brief
For years, Ferrero Rocher had been associated with Christmas or the ‘ambassador’s party’ TV spots from the 90s. But the brand had decided it was time to break away from its traditional perception – both in when its enjoyed and how its viewed on social media.
the idea
Some traditions that shouldn’t be changed, Ferrero Rocher is still a chocolate for occasions. With a simple reframing of formal events to more relatable, familiar moments with friends, the brand was social-audience ready – accompanied by the invitation to, ‘Celebrate the Moment’.
my role
Working within a small team, I established the creative platform that underpinned the campaign, wrote the scripts for each narrative and oversaw the design of each storyboard – which would subsequently become the composition and framing that made it to production and final cut. I also created the action of ‘cheersing’ with Ferrero Rocher…
what happened next
…which has featured heavily in the brand’s content since. The project was successful in the brand’s reframing as a treat for all year round, with many follow up campaigns continuing the narrative.
